Careers at June

Come build June.

We're a small team of CPAs and engineers building AI that produces work a professional will sign their name to. We are innovative, we have revenue, and we are building the next great Canadian technology company.

What it's like here

Small team, real product.

You ship in week one.

Real firms use June today. Your code reaches them the day you write it.

You own the scope.

We give you the problem and the constraint. How it gets built is your call.

You'll learn accounting properly.

The founders are CPAs from Deloitte and BDO. That domain knowledge compounds for the rest of your career.

We're building something new.

The category is young and moving fast. You'll have real say in where June goes next, not a spec handed down to you.

Open roles

We're hiring.

If you're excellent and nothing here fits, use the general application below.

Engineer

Full-timeToronto or remote in CanadaNew grad to senior

You'd own real surface area of the product from day one and work directly with the founding CPAs on what June does next.

What you'll do

  • Own product surfaces end-to-end: data model, API, UI, and the AI behaviour behind them.
  • Design the guardrails that keep AI output defensible, with every number traced to a source figure.
  • Work on the accounting integrations: QuickBooks now, Xero and Sage next.
  • Lead engineering hiring as we expand. You set the bar and pick the team that comes after you.

What we're looking for

  • Strong fundamentals and proof you build things end-to-end: internships with a real bar, a project people use, open-source, competitive programming.
  • Comfort with data correctness: SQL, schema design, and an instinct for where numbers go wrong.
  • You've built with LLMs and have opinions about where they need fencing in.
  • Waterloo CS/SE or a comparable program is a plus.

What we offer

  • Founding-hire equity.
  • Competitive salary, revisited at the raise.
  • Direct access to the founders, with no layer between you and the decision.

How we hire

A simple interview and a work test on something you've already built: the problem it solved, why your solution worked, and how you handled security. No whiteboard trivia.

Founding GTM

Full-timeToronto or remote in CanadaEarly-career to experienced

You'd own how June reaches accounting firms through outbound, demos, pilots, and close, working directly with the founders on everything commercial.

What you'll do

  • Own the top of the funnel. We already have a lead list of firms and fractional CFOs to work, so you'd run outbound against it, book the meetings, and keep building it out.
  • Run demos yourself. You'll know the product well enough to show a partner their own numbers on a live call.
  • Take pilots from first conversation to signed, and own the pipeline end-to-end.
  • Feed what you hear back into the product. You'll sit closer to the market than anyone here.
  • Write the playbook the next GTM hires run, and help hire them.

What we're looking for

  • You've sold something hard, or built something from nothing: a startup, an agency, a student venture. Real stakes, not a title.
  • You write well. Cold outbound is a writing job before it's a sales job.
  • You can hear no all day and get sharper each time.
  • Real curiosity about accounting and finance. You'll be talking to CPAs who can tell in one question whether you did the work.
  • Bias to action over process. There's no playbook yet, and that's the job.

What we offer

  • Founding-hire equity.
  • Direct access to the founders, with no layer between you and the decision.

How we hire

A simple interview and a short work test: pick a firm you'd want as a June client and show us how you'd get the meeting. No role-play, no trick questions.
